Stress is an emotional feeling or physical tension brought about by various factors concerning life. It can come from thoughts and events that make one feel frustrated, angry, or nervous. Stress in college students is on the rise. College students experience stress because of unhealthy relationships, increase in responsibilities, lack of self-care, uncertainty, illness, financial challenges, and last but not the least negative thinking.

The main cause of stress is when there is too much thinking. Students think too much when they don’t need to. This involves thinking about wasteful and trivial things, that are useless in life, and negative thoughts about the self and others. This habit may drain their mental energy, thereby spoiling the learning environment. Student life may be affected by unhealthy relationships, when there is criminal love unfaithfulness also can result in stress and even depression.

When responsibilities increase, students are likely to be stressed, especially when they are not equal to the task. Laziness may creep in, and so there is a need for them to work hard. Some symptoms of stress in students are lack of sleep or oversleeping to avoid disturbance of the challenges, too much drinking to avoid stress lack of appetite or overeating, anger, nervousness, and general body weakness.

To contain stress, one has to have accurate knowledge about himself or herself and a connection with the world. The world is changing very fast and the students should know that we can't do without challenges. Therefore, responsibilities are part of life. There can't be a success without effort. Students have to fulfill their responsibilities by studying to succeed. Self-care is very important because the mind needs to be programmed to accept and have a love for the self.

Positive thinking about the self and others generates energy in the self. One has to practice introversion and talk to himself or herself about his good qualities. This is essential because it makes one strong, especially in an unhealthy relationship. Whether one loves you or rejects, it doesn’t matter because you already have approved yourself.

Therefore, when you understand yourself, don’t allow people's opinions to interfere with your potential to study. A good company can help a great deal. In this way, stress is contained.
